Harley is a 1 year old small pointer Cross girl weighing approximately 10 kg and currently living in a shelter in Cyprus.
Harley was abandoned in the mountains with her brother Hunter, they were both lucky enough to make their way into the village of Lefkara where they were fortunate enough to be caught by one of our rescuers, whereupon she was taken to the local shelter with her little brother Hunter.
Both babies were so afraid when they first arrived, underweight, and covered in ticks, but they were so grateful to be somewhere safe, both likely never having known kindness or a regular meal.
After a few days, they both warmed up to their environment and rescuer showing their gratitude with lots of kisses and affection.
Harley was a little less confident than her brother, but now she is more than willing to come forward for fuss. It is clear she was cared for by her brother during their ordeal as often he waits until she eats to make sure she doesn’t go without, the relationship has been very special to see.
Harley is described as very friendly, she is wonderful and sociable with all the other dogs at the shelter and cats too!
Because of her age, Harley will need training, she’s had little leash experience and wouldn’t understand the structure of living in a home but we know she will be very willing to learn! Being food /treat focused, she’ll be a pleasure to teach, we have no doubt she’ll be a little sponge, eagerly soaking up all the new knowledge.
Harley hasn’t had puppyhood and so may relive hers once she becomes comfortable in a new home and may display puppy-like behaviour and as a result, she will be full of fun at times and she has had her brother’s support another playful dog in her new home would be ideal.
Harley will need a family with children over 5 years of age and a family who are willing to continue to train and nurture this beautiful little girl so that she can become the wonderful dog we know she can be.
She will reward her owners with unconditional love and affection and be the most loyal companion and friend. Are you that special person who can open your heart and home to this little bundle of furry joy?
