Hunter is a 1 year old small pointer Cross boy weighing approximately 10 kg and currently living in a shelter in Cyprus.
Hunter was abandoned in the mountains with his sister Harley, they were both lucky enough to make their way into the village of Lefkara where they were fortunate enough to be caught by one of our rescuers, where upon he was taken to the local shelter along with his little sister Harley.
Both babies were so afraid when they first arrived, underweight, covered in ticks, the usual tragic story for dogs in Cyprus. Both were so grateful to be somewhere safe, both likely never having known kindness or a regular meal.
After a few days, they both warmed up to their environment and rescuer showing their gratitude with lots of kisses and affection. Hunter is more confident than his sister. More willing to come forward for fuss.
He is a very bright little boy. We think he has likely kept his sister safe during their ordeal as often he waits until she has eaten to make sure she doesn’t go without.
Hunter is very friendly and is wonderful with all the other dogs at the shelter he also gets on with cats, as does his sister.
Because of his age, Hunter will need training, as he has had little leash experience and wouldn’t understand the structure of living in a home but we know he will be very willing to learn.
He is food /treat focused and so will be a pleasure to teach, we have no doubt he’ll be a little sponge, eager to soak up all the new knowledge.
In seeking his forever home, Hunter could live with other dogs, cats and children over 5 years old. Hunter hasn’t had puppyhood so may relive his once he becomes comfortable in a new home and as a result, will probably display puppy like behaviour and so will be full of fun at times.
Hunter will need a family willing to commit to his basic training and beyond, but the reward will be watching this little boy develop into the awesome dog we know he can be.
Are you ready to open your heart and home to this gentle loving boy and have the most loyal and faithful friend for life. Hunter and his Sister Harley can fly to the UK as soon as homes are offered.
