Izzy is a 2 year old female Pointer Cross of medium size, currently in a shelter in Cyprus after being abandoned in a village. She was in terrible condition when found, very thin, truly terrified and exhausted.
Since being at the shelter she has received veterinary care, food and the love she so badly needed. She was very shy when she first arrived, worried someone might hurt her but with a little time she has realised that she is in a safe place, and she now knows that a raised hand doesn’t result in pain anymore but a kind stroke or a tickle behind the ears.
Dogs are so incredible in their capacity to forgive, love and trust again and Izzy is no exception to that! We’ve discovered that this beautiful girl has the sweetest of personalities, she is very gentle in her nature with such a calm disposition for a young dog.
We are now also seeing her fun-loving and playful side, she interacts well with all the dogs she meets at the shelter and she has often been seen trying to initiate a game of chase with another dog or two.
Izzy is looking for a forever home where she’s going to be given the time and patience to trust, and a home that will support her whilst she is learning to live in a home. Izzy is a very bright girl and training her will be a joy, as she will just soak up new skills.
An active home with plenty of interesting walks would be a dream come true for her. Izzy loves the company of both humans and dogs and so she would do well in a home with another dog or two. Izzy may chase cats so a home without any small furry animals would be better.
A family with older children over 10 years of age who could help with her training and play with her would be best for Izzy and in return she will make the most loyal and loving companion and friend for life – are you that special family that Izzy so deserves, if so she can fly to the UK as soon a forever home is offered.
