Kye is a 7 month old male Pointer Cross. Kye is an absolutely gorgeous puppy boy with an unusual patterned coat. He is a very sweet little boy, and he is good with other dogs once he gets to know them, but on meeting new dogs he is still unsure. Kye is living with a small dog in his foster home and after a short period they now get along well. He is fine with adults but is very timid on meeting new people and will bark at strangers, but this is improving the more experiences he has.
All in all he is a loving puppy who is learning how to react to new people and dogs and this will just improve with experience. He is also learning to walk without pulling but he is a very fast learner! His parentage isn’t clear but he will have an unusual greyish spotted black coat. Kye will be of medium height once fully grown. Seized from a local family in Spain who were being cruel to Kye and his brother, they were initially placed with a foster family in Spain. Kye is now in a foster home in the UK in the West Midlands and he is just loving it! He is ready to go to a new loving home. Current location is in a foster home South Birmingham, West Midlands.
Foster Report July 2016: Kye has settled into our home really well. He sleeps in the kitchen and doesn’t cry or whine. He is house trained, hasn’t been destructive, hasn’t chewed or broken anything. He loves to lie on the settee and snuggles up for a belly rub. He is very affectionate and loving and really is just a big baby. When meeting new people he can sometimes be a little timid but this doesn’t last long. He is wary of dogs particularly if he is on a lead, he sometimes barks and lunges but I think this out of fear. He has been on a ‘pack walk’ (under the watchful eye of a behaviourist) and he really enjoyed running around with other dogs and he had a brilliant time. I will continue to take him to the pack walks to build his confidence around other dogs. He is now comfortable with my own dog and they are beginning to be become friends, they are both asleep under my desk as I’m writing this oh yeah, he does snore which is very cute.
I have started doing clicker training and he is loving it, he just wants to please. He knows sit, down, stay, comes when called, sits and waits for his food etc he pretty much does what he’s asked to do. He will be a large dog as he is already 21? from floor to shoulder, he is bouncy and athletic. He has a very unusual coat that goes from grey to black – he is very handsome boy. He will need an experienced owner who will understand how to bring out the best in him. He has the potential to be a fantastic companion. Vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, too young to be neutered but this must be done when he is old enough by owners, microchipped and has a Pet Passport.
